Mission Tanzania - Day 1 (update)

As I am writing this the power in this area just went out. Scott said, "Now you've really experienced Africa!" I have battery power on this computer so I am going to make this short.

We met and had a GREAT afternoon with Fanuel. What a prince of a man. His wife, Monica, is here for the week and we got to meet her as well. We just finished a wonderful spaghetti meal prepared by Jennifer.

We spent the afternoon with Fanuel prayer walking the Same area and bascially getting our bearings and talking about our plan for the rest of the week.

Everywhere we went today kids came running out of houses yelling, "Wazungu, wazungu!" That is the Swahili word used for white people! Apparenetly we are a novelty! We are counting on this to open doors so that we can tell people why we are in Tanzania and why Scott and Jennifer live here.

Tomorrow we plan to head to an area that is new for even Scott and Fanuel. We will try and meet the tribal leaders and gain favor so as to walk the area and talk to people about Jesus.

Keep praying and check back tomorrow for more.
Blessings,
Jeff
